About Carving

  • Reporter Cristina Kumka first came to Vermont at 18 to snowboard. She fell in love with the smell in the air when fresh snow was falling and loved the scenic views, largely exclusive to slopes in the Green Mountain State. Now, nine years later, she lives here and enjoys to snowboard whenever she gets a break from the daily reporting grind. She works part-time at Okemo Mountain Resort but enjoys carving the corduroy all across the state, especially at Sugarbush and Killington. This is a blog where daily updates on snowy weather and winter fun will be plentiful. Feel free to contribute any new news off the slopes by e-mailing Cristina at cristina.kumka@rutlandherald.com.
