An important decision on maintaining the ability of news media to report on court cases, from the First Amendment Center. It defends the right to report fairly and accurately on court proceedings, including initial filings, without fear of a libel action.

This is an outstanding decision. Now, we have to ensure that our newspapers, at least, have dedicated courts reporters. The best reporting on trials is often at the beginning stages, before judges rule on what evidence and arguments can be used.
