It could be a wet New Year's weekend

MONTPELIER -- The National Weather Service in Burlington is predicting a wet New Year's weekend.

Light snow and sleet are possible today with a high around 27 degrees.

Tonight, look for a low of 25 degrees with a chance of snow before 10 p.m. and sleet after 10.

New Year's Eve is forecast to be warm with a high of 41 and a 70 percent chance of rain in the morning. In the evening, there's a chance of rain or snow and a low of 28.

For New Year's Day expect a high in the low 40s with a chance of rain or snow and a low of 27.
