MONTPELIER — Thierry Guerlain is fed up with “business as usual” at City Hall, so he said he’s decided to run for City Council and to challenge Nancy Sherman for her District 2 seat.
Guerlain said as one of the founders of a group of citizens worried about the cost of living in Montpelier, he’s concerned about the municipal tax bills and spending priorities.
That informal group circulated a letter a couple of months ago asking city officials to cut next year’s budget by 3 percent. It was signed by more than 150 citizens. The group has since morphed into Vibrant and Affordable Montpelier.
