A Rutland woman is behind bars after police say they found 96 bags of heroin in her possession.
Kimberly Fredette, 27, pleaded innocent in Rutland criminal court to a felony charge of heroin possession and a misdemeanor charge of possessing marijuana. Bail for Fredette was set at $5,000.
State police say they arrested Fredette during the early morning hours on Friday when she was stopped driving a car on Route 103 in Shrewsbury.
Fredette was taken to Rutland Regional Medical Center where she surrendered the drugs, police said.
Fredette faces up to more than 20 years in prison if convicted of both charges.
