Shouts & Whispers: The Civil War Correspondence of D.D. Priest of Mount Holly, Vermont is a collection of letters Darius Duty Priest sent to his wife Emeline during the three years he spent in military service. At 34 he enlisted less than a month after the firing on Fort Sumter leaving behind his wife and four children. Serving in Company I, the Second Vermont Volunteer Infantry Regiment he fought at Bull Run, and saw action from Antietam to Spotsylvania. History buffs reading this book will get a concise accounting of life on the front lines during the Civil War. September 4th at 4 pm Editor Nancy Wilson, will share her reasons for publishing her great grandfather’s letters and the history of her family in Mt. Holly. Nancy will also give the audience insight into the trials and tribulations of publishing a book. Books will be available for purchase. Join us at the Mt.
