At its first meeting of the year, members of the Ludlow Democratic Committee (LDC) met to select new officers and plan strategy for the elections locally, regionally, and nationally.
Newly-elected Chair of the LDC, James Alic, stated his goal at new chairperson, saying, "I look forward to helping re-energize the Ludlow Democratic Party and expanding the active membership of the Committee and its influence on the affairs of Ludlow, the State and our national party."
Dottie Dean, representing the Widsor County Democratic Committee, affirmed that group's assessment of the revitalized LDC, declaring, "Ludlow is an integral part of the Windsor County Democratic Committee; with the dedicated help of Jim Alic, as Ludlow Democratic chair, Windsor County Dems are excited to re-engage with the energy and support Ludlow Dems provide."
The LDC's caucus selected its officers for the coming season. They included Jim Alic as Chair, Anita Alic as Vice-Chair, Lois Brown as Treasurer, Anne Oakes as Vice-Treasurer, and Ralph Pace as Secretary. Jim Alic, Pace, and LDC member Alice Nitka were selected to represent the committee at the Windsor County level.
Following a lengthy discussion about the future strategy and goals of the committee, it was decided to hold a follow-on meeting on Tuesday, November 11 at 7 PM at Ludlow Town Hall. All interested Ludlow Democrats are invited to participate. For information call 228-7239 or 228-5380.
