On Wednesday, February 22nd. award winning cake decorator, Irene Maston, will demonstrate her artistic skills at a program sponsored by the Friends of the Library, Flethcher Memorial Library, Ludlow. She will demonstrate how to ice and cover a two tier cake in fondant and show different lace techniques and border designs.
Irene loves cake! Starting with her "Easy Bake Oven" at seven years of age, on to graduation from the Culinary Institute of America and winning the Grand Prize at The National Capital Area Cake Competition in both 2010 and 2011. She will be judging the wedding cake competition at that event this spring. She also won first place in the Mid Atlantic Cake show in 2008 and holds eight medals from the American Culinary Federation. Anyone who attended the festivities celebrating the founding of Ludlow will remember her spectacular rendition of our town gazebo.
Irene and her husband purchased the Andrie Rose Inn in January, 2000 and have run the inn, restaurant and custom cake business since then.
The program will be from 3:00 to 4:30pm on February, 22nd. in the Community Room of the library. A "tasting" and beverages will be served. All are welcome.
