MONTPELIER — The Recreation Department is considering increasing the fees for swimming pool passes, swimming lessons and day camps.
You can view the proposed fee increases here.
This isn't yet a done deal, the Recreation Board is expected to take up the matter at their next meeting on Feb. 8 at 5:15 p.m. at the Recreation Building on Barre Street.
I'm sure many people would be upset with this one.
I'm not exactly sure why they have to increase the fees but if it's about pool maintenance it's 21st century for crying out loud they can just go to http://www.cheappoolproducts.com/ for pool supplies

I agree with Bertha: many people will not like this decision. But if this will be used to further improve the service and maintenance of the pool, why not? If the price hike will give a long-term advantage to the pool, it will be a smart move to consider.

I'm sure people will be upset at first, but will the extra income encourage renovations and improvements to the pool people will eventually understand and be willing to pay a little more but also get much more.

Very disappointing... The pool was always the place where everyone can take his child to on hot days. Now a lot of them will probably have to pass.
