MONTPELIER — Michael Marinelli says he can do the job of Montpelier city clerk because he’s organized, has a strong work ethic, is fiscally responsible and knows the capital city.
Marinelli moved to Montpelier in 1964 when he was 5 years old. He graduated from Montpelier High School, as did his wife, Elise, and their three children.
Now Marinelli, 53, is running to be the next city clerk.
He says he would bring to the office a career focused on customer service.
“I’m a people person,” he said.
As someone who supports John Odum, I'd like to indicate my displeasure with the Times Argus' uneven treatment of the two candidates. Michael Marinelli gets a full profile with a photo, just a few days before Town Meeting. Odum's profile was published on January 25, before most voters were paying attention to the campaign, and it was a much smaller sidebar with no photo.
The coverage is not at all comparable in timing, placement or quantity, and creates the impression of bias in the Times Argus.

What's great about a daily newspaper is that there's always tomorrow.
