MONTPELIER — Montpelier High School is in the market for a new co-athletic director following the resignation of Devin Wendel, who held the position for the past academic year.
“Devin felt that it was probably in his best interest to find something closer to his home base of Bristol,” Solons principal Peter Evans said. “He’s been driving over here every day, and sometimes the App Gap at midnight or 11 p.m. when he’s heading back after winter sports is a little too much.”
Wendel and 2007 MHS graduate Jen Lahr replaced seven-year AD Lynn Ribolini last summer after the school board voted to redesign the job description. Wendel and Lahr were each hired to serve half-time positions, which also included athletic trainer responsibilities.
“What happened naturally during the course of the athletic season was that Devin was assuming full responsibility for the AD stuff and providing some support to the students in terms of the trainer element,” Evans said. “Jen was providing mostly trainer support, and supporting Devin as much as she could.”

Wendel and Lahr were each employed to offer half-time roles, which also involved fitness instructor obligations.
