MONTPELIER — Come celebrate El Dia de la Batalla de Puebla this Saturday as the Three Penny Taproom throws it's annual Montbeerlier Cask Beer Festival.
El Dia de la Batalla de Puebla translates to The Day of the Battle of Puebla. In Puebla, Mexico there's a celebration of the Mexican army's victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862, under the leadership of General Ignacio Zaragoza Seguín.
But in Montpelier on Saturday, it just so happens that the third annual cask beer celebration falls on May 5th.
The previous two Montbeerlier Cask Beer Festivals took place in the Onion River Sports parking lot, but this year, the Three Penny crew is closing down Langdon Street.
The Primate Fiasco is scheduled to perform and the festivities are to get underway at 3 p.m.
