There's been a lot of change going on this winter - no Frost Heaves, for one - and then again, there's been a lot that has stayed the same - perennial powers, etc.
I've seen the Hazen boys do their thing - win, and win big - and I've seen the Twinfield boys continue to win - 16 in a row with the Auditorium getting ever closer. I've seen the Spaulding hockey teams do very well - both should make serious noise in the tournaments, if not bring home more hardware.
I've seen the Williamstown boys struggle since winning their first-ever title and then graduate a bulk of their scoring power. But, freshman Jason Manwaring has given head coach Jack Carrier something to be really, really excited about.
On the girls side, everything's coming up red - Hazen red, Twinfield red. Both have done very well, with the Trojans still with just one loss - to a D-I opponent in highly ranked Burr and Burton at that. I expect the Aud to be a sea of red come final four time. The Twinfield boys are undefeated and show little sign of slowing down.
In terms of hockey, the U-32 girls have done well again and should defend their Lake Division title well. The core of Jyneva Pickel, Katie Kreis, Ally George and others have played well all winter, and the up-and-coming star to watch will be young Emily George.
The Harwood boys take on CVU this week - Wednesday night, to be exact - and other than today's BFA-Spaulding matchup that the Bobwhites won 4-2, that will be the marquee matchup of the week.
Playoff time is coming very, very soon - like, next week - so stay tuned.
With the changes going on around here, I should be able to update this more often. So, "One Coach," here's my promise.
