You know those commercials where the soccer moms are on the sideline watching their kids play, and one child seems to be moving slower than the rest, because he's wearing a giant french-fry costume? It's supposed to show the connection between nutrition and sports performance, and in my opinion it's one of the starkest images out there.
Well now central Vermont athletes can hear more about that direct correlation.
I was recently informed by new Williamstown athletic director Marc Chamberlain that the Blue Devils will host Beau Hays, NSCA CSCS, on Jan. 12 at 5 p.m. to give a presentation on sports nutrition. According to Chamberlain, Hays is "just an internship away from being a certified nurtritionist" and "is very knowledgable in the field of nutrtition and includes this aspect in his personal training packages."
For more information on Hays' presentation, contact Chamberlain at Williamstown Middle/High School at (802) 433-5350.
