WINOOSKI — A Winooski police officer has pleaded guilty to drunken driving and has been sentenced to one year of probation.
Court papers say officer Jason Nokes was found unresponsive in the driver’s seat of his truck on Aug. 5 in the median of Interstate 89.
Nokes, who was off-duty at the time, has been on paid administrative leave since he was arrested.
His blood alcohol content was .429 percent, which prompted the judge to reject the original plea deal of six month’s probation, saying a stronger sentenced was needed.
