‘And On Earth, Peace’ - Concert in Middlebury

MIDDLEBURY-COLCHESTER - The VYO Chorus and the Vermont Youth Concert Chorale will present their Winter Concert program, “And on Earth, Peace” on Friday, Dec. 16, at 7:30 p.m, at the Mahaney Center for the Arts at Middlebury College. They reprise the program again the following evening, Saturday, Dec. 17, at 7:30 p.m., at Elley-Long Music Center at Fort Ethan Allen (note the new start times of both concerts). The choruses will be accompanied at both concerts by pianist Annemieke Spoelstra.

The seasonal concert features Hans Leo Hassler’s “Gloria,” Sergei Rachmaninoff’s “Rejoice, O Virgin” from All Night Vigil, Opus 37 and selections from Carl Orff’s choral work “Carmina Burana,” along with other spirituals and traditional pieces.

Now in their fifth season the VYO Chorus and the Vermont Youth Concert Chorale are comprised of seventy-seven outstanding middle and high school singers from cities and towns across Vermont.
