BARRE — An ongoing investigation into a recent burglary in Moretown led state police to a Summer Street apartment house late Tuesday morning.
Though few details were available, Senior Trooper Daniel Trottier confirmed police executed a search warrant in at least one of the three apartments in the building, which also houses the ground-floor business Cashtronics.
Trottier said police, who arrived at the apartment house late Tuesday morning and left shortly before 1 p.m., did not find what they were looking for. However, he said the investigation is nearing an end and predicted additional information would soon be made available.
Trottier did not say what was taken in the Moretown burglary but did indicate it occurred in the last two weeks.
Four state police cruisers, several troopers — one stationed in front of the building — and a police dog were all on the scene for more than an hour.
It was not immediately clear whether police believed the occupants of the apartment may have been responsible for the crime, or simply may have come into possession of some of the stolen property.
