BURLINGTON — Federal prosecutors say a Barre man is going to serve 77 months in prison after pleading guilty to charges that he manufactured methamphetamine and was a felon in possession of a firearm.
Ricky Moorhead, 35, was sentenced Monday in Brattleboro by U.S. District Court Judge J. Garvan Murtha.
The charges stemmed from a June 2010 investigation of a small fire in a home on French Street in Barre, where Moorhead had lived.
Prosecutors say investigators found evidence that led police to search Moorhead’s truck, where they seized methamphetamines and evidence of methamphetamine production.
Officials say Moorhead produced between 2.4 and 3.8 grams of methamphetamine.
He was also ordered to forfeit a .22-caliber rifle he had in his possession when he was arrested.
