PITTSFORD - Vermont State Police are awaiting the arrival of a specialized team in Pittsford to examine a reported suspicious item discovered in a car on Route 7 inside a garage at Brandon Auto South.
Police were called to the scene a little before noon today by the owner of the vehicle, who state police Lt. Charles Cacciatore said had recently purchased the car at auction.
While unable to describe the item, Cacciatore termed it as "a possible explosive device."
Two police cruisers are parked outside of the building awaiting the arrival of the specialized team, which will decide whether the busy north-south running highway will have to be closed while they examine the device.
