MONTPELIER — Two local builders, Hobie Guion and Bill Heigis, recently were awarded “Best of the Best” at this year’s Better Building Conference, being held in Burlington on Feb. 8-9 and hosted by Efficiency Vermont.
Actually, this year, there was a tie, so Guion and Heigis share the prize — with themselves. It seems the two entries from Guion and Heigis split the top award.
Both homes (one in Maple Corner and the other in Waterbury) were designed to be “net zero”, that is they replace all the energy they use in a given year, back to the grid.
