Central Vermont food fight?

BARRE — The Barre woman who turned a good old-fashioned Town Meeting Day food drive into an inter-municipal “food fight” four years ago is hoping someone will volunteer to organize the effort this year.
Jean Merrill says she will happily share what she learned in the three years she coordinated a friendly Town Meeting Day contest among Barre, Barre Town, Montpelier and Berlin.
The effort resulted in the collection of tons of food — much of which was donated to the Vermont Foodbank, according to Merrill, who says she’s ready to pass the baton.
