LUDLOW — Town police are warning residents to be on the lookout for suspicious activity in the wake of about a dozen burglaries during the last two weeks.
Most of the break-ins have occurred at homes located on back roads in areas such as North Hill and South Hill, police said. So far, no break-ins have been reported on Okemo, but police say residents throughout town should remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
The burglars have used force — including kicking in doors, breaking through windows and the use of a crowbar — to gain entry to the homes where expensive electronics such as flat screen televisions and computers have been the most common items stolen.
No suspected persons or vehicles have been reported around any of the burglarized homes. In one instance, police say a home security system scared the thieves away before any items were taken.
Anyone with information about the burglaries is asked to call police at 228-4411.
