BENNINGTON – The Bennington Police Department is asking for the public’s help in finding a car, or its driver, that officers believe was involved in a crash on Friday night.
In a press release, police said Officer Amanda Thomson was investigating the crash which happened on North Branch Street on Friday around 10:40 p.m. near the bridge known locally as the “Brooklyn Bridge.”
Thomson said the driver of the vehicle fled the scene after the crash.
Police believe the car was a white Pontiac that crossed the center of the road and struck a red Nissan Altima.
The Pontiac is likely to have fresh damage to the driver’s side corner near the headlights.
Anyone with information about the crash, the Pontiac or the driver of the Pontiac is asked to contact the Bennington police department at 442-1030.
