ESSEX — A major Vermont road is open again after crews cleaned glass that had fallen from a recycling truck that was headed to Canada.
Essex police began receiving reports of large amounts of glass on Susie Wilson Road at about 7 p.m. Monday.
The glass trail extended to Susie Wilson Bypass and parts of Route 2A by the circumferential highway.
Police determined the driver of the recycling truck failed to latch the tailgate.
The truck driver was given a ticket for having an unsecured load.
The road was closed while highway crews cleaned up the glass.
