The updated forcast is calling for a 60 percent chance of snow through noon with only a trace expected.
The brunt of the storm will then arrive with a total of 5 to 8 inches in Montpelier and Burlington areas in the next 36 hours.
Rutland should see 3 to 5 inches in the next day and a half, while the southern parts of the state only expecting 1 to 3 inches.
Obviously localized snow can dump more than that, but those are predicted averages.
Right now the snow is in the southern part of Vermont up to about Manchester in the west, Rockingham in the east, and spreading northward.
The snow is expected to mostly fall today and tonight.
Temperatures should be in the 30s today, dropping to around freezing overnight before climbing back into the 30s Saturday.
There is a winter weather advisory and I'll get to that in just a few minutes, but my guess is it says it's going to snow.
