BENNINGTON – On Feb. 23, Southern Vermont College will host a panel discussion on the importance of electronic patient records by clinical informatics specialists from three area health facilities.
Part of the “Healthcare Forum” series, the discussion, titled “Electronic Clinical Informatics,” will take place in the Everett Mansion Theatre from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. The forum is open to the public and is expected to be of general interest because everyone will have lifetime clinical records.
Panel members include Southwestern Vermont Health Care’s Gail Balch, a registered nurse and director of information systems and clinical informatics, and Cynthia Bush, director of health information services; William Rauch, IT director for informatics and acute care systems at Berkshire (Mass.) Health Systems; and Louann Villani, a registered nurse and director of clinical informatics at Albany (N.Y.) Medical Center.
The panelists will answer questions on the importance of electronic patient records, confidentiality of records, lifetime clinical records and career trajectory for the clinical informatics role.
This event is the fourth healthcare forum in a series, sponsored by the college’s division of nursing. For more information, call 447-4661 or email [email protected]
