Town budget
The proposed $1,484,948 budget is up $39,952 or 2.7 percent over this year’s $1,444,996 spending plan. Tax abatements were increased $4,000, road materials up $17,000 and town garage costs were hiked $12,000.
School budget
The elementary school budget proposal of $3,095,494 increased $64,636 or 2.1 percent over the current $3,030,858. More funds were budgeted for technology as well as health insurance costs.

Contested races
Robert S. Congdon Jr. is challenging incumbent Nancy Buffum for a three-year seat on the town’s Select Board and David Chambers is trying to unseat incumbent Robert Bixby for a two-year Select Board post.
Meeting
Residents will gather for an informational meeting Monday, March 5 at the Clarendon Elementary School at 7:30 p.m. Australian ballot voting on budgets, school and municipal officers and special articles will take place on Tuesday, March 6 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Clarendon Town Hall.
