Waterbury man cited for pot

DUXBURY — A late-night traffic stop on Route 100 over the weekend earned a Waterbury man a speeding ticket and a criminal citation for possession of marijuana.

According to police, Ronald E. Ryan, 58, was pulled over not far from Crossett Brook Elementary School shortly after 11 p.m. on Saturday when he was allegedly clocked driving 18 miles over the posted speed limit of 40 miles per hour.

While speaking with Ryan, police said they discovered he was in possession of marijuana. Ryan was issued a ticket for speeding and a citation to appear in court on March 29 when he will be arraigned on the possession charge, they said.
