It seems to me that the media plays an important role of providing information to the public so that we can have an informed debate on the question of marriage equality.

So far, virtually all of the coverage has been about the mechanics, controversy and politics surrounding the commission.

When are we going to see some coverage about the merits of the issue? When are we going to see some factual reporting?

So far the assumption seems to be that this is a topic that only relates to personal opinion and politics. I'd like to see our opinions and politics informed by fact. Isn't that what the media is for?

Dan Barlow, what do you think of the coverage so far? What can you tell us about the plans to cover this issue over the next year?
