Secretary of State Deb Markowitz launched a fundraising appeal this week called 9,351 square miles, looking to raise that amount in dollars for her campaign for governor.
The e-mail appeal from the Democrat explains, "The people in Vermont's 9,351 square miles deserve better leadership from the governor that will take the oath January 2011."
Standard campaign pitch. But there was one problem, as the Republican Governor's Association pointed out Wednesday in an e-mail: The campaign accidently used New Hampshire's square miles.
Vermont has 9,609 square miles - a slightly larger amount of land than New Hampshire's 9,351.
