Shumlin campaign kick-off

Senate President Peter Shumlin - one of the five Democrats running for governor - has scheduled his official campaign kick-off.

Like all gubernatorial candidates, Shumlin had a "soft announcement" months ago. But campaigns these days seem to require the big push with balloons and crowds of supporters.

Here's the details:

Monday, May 24:

12:15 p.m. at the top of Church Street in Burlington

5:30 p.m. at the Putney Tavern green in Putney
