The agenda for tonight's meeting is all about requests. Here are a few:
- The Rutland Airport Business Park's 25-year-old sewer contract recently expired and it is seeking to resign something similar for the same length of time, according to a letter from its president.
- Treasurer Wendy Wilton is seeking the abatement of $17,313.42 in taxes on a property that was purchased through tax sale by Joseph Giancola for $10,000. The figure that needs to be abated on the property at 105 Granger St. includes $4,832 in taxes, $5,120 in water and $7,369 in sewer.
- Police Chief Anthony Bossi is seeking permission to purchase two new police cruisers and all the associated equipment at a cost of $80,000.
- Book King on Center Street is seeking the OK to set up two or three tables outside its storefront during business hours and through October.
- Joe Tilden has submitted a special events permit for the Aug. 16 Assumption Festival and procession at St. Peter Catholic Church.
- Local snowmobile groups and the Vermont Association of Snow Travelers are hoping to use the city's forest land for a trail they say would provide the missing link in the VAST North/South corridor for the Statewide Snowmobile Trails Program.
- Table 24 is requesting an outside consumption permit for the summer's remaining Friday Night Live events.
- Soon to be the newest Center Street bar, Downtown Tavern has submitted paperwork for its first class liquor license. According to the application, the business will feature a large bar, a game area and dance floor, as well as a back deck.
- The Saints of Pub 42, at 12 Wales St., will be the new name of bar in Saints n Sinners' old locale. The owners are seeking a first-class liquor and a tobacco permit.
