Candidate Larson

Of the six candidates in this year's aldermanic race, only Ed Larson, a retired city police officer, seems to be running much of a campaign. Maybe you've noticed his blue-and-white signs proclaiming it time to elect Ed Larson along city streets.

Although it's not much followed or srutinized in the smallest and most local of campaigns, Friday is the pre-election campaign

finance report filing deadline. Larson mailed out his four-page report this morning. In total, he's spent $425.73 so far, all of it out of his own pocket - as he promised when he announced his candidacy last month. I don't expect to find too many more reports when I check in with the clerk Friday evening.
