My name is Gordon Dritschilo and I'll be your blogger for this evening.

This post is a test.

I have taken over the City Hall beat from Stephanie Peters, who decided the income and job security of a career in law was more appealing than the thrill of sitting through aldermanic committee meetings week after week.

With the beat comes this blog, which I'll try to update regularly (or at least semi-regularly) as soon as I've got a handle on the technical end of things.

Dear Mr. Dritschilo,

I was disappointed that there was no mention of the volunteers that helped in putting on the event at Roots.

You failed to mention Michael Coppinger for his help in producing the sound system and emceeing the event,

the name of the bands, the belly dancers, the fire baton juggler, and all the others that gave their time to make it a success.

Maybe you could add a little something to show that their contribution was appreciated.
