...on that whole posting more often thing.
We got a call today from someone asking if I'd made a blog post today, which at least means somebody other than my mother is reading this. Unless it was my mother who called.
I didn't make it to the Charter and Ordinance Committee meeting tonight as I was doing interviews for a story memorializing James McNeil, who died over the weekend at age 90. However, I did get ahold of Joe Tilden who said it was a short meeting at which the closest thing to an action taken was the committee agreeing to review the sign ordinance.
I'm still wondering at the scheduling of the meeting on a holiday. I suppose this is one of the holidays where Chairman Dress could get away with it. I've seen municipalities get in real trouble monkeying around with Veterans Day, but MLK Day probably doesn't have the same sort of constituency here. Memorial Day and July 4 are pretty much alternate Veterans Days, so you I'm guessing you wouldn't want to schedule a meeting then, and nobody would show up for a meeting on Thanksgiving or Christmas.
You could probably get away with scheduling something on Presidents Day. Columbus Day might be safe, too.
