At the Chamber's legislative breakfast this morning, Gov. Shumlin said there was an aspect to Vermont's agricultural future that he didn't like to bring up in public because it sounded "looney," but he would talk about it there because there was no media present.
Harumph!
Anyway, Shumlin said global warming (maybe he should have worried less about the media and more about the Republican-to-Democrat ratio at a typical Chamber function) would mean less water in America's traditional agricultural areas in the next 10-15 years and more water in Vermont, thus increasing our productivity while it declines in other parts of the country.
The speech spent a lot of time on transportation and telecommmunications infrastructure, and tommorrow's story will go into detail.
