I may sleep under my desk tonight because I'm not sure I even want to walk to my car. I think the road might actually be melting.
Tomorrow's paper, if we don't all die of heat stroke before we get a chance to read it, will have an account of Chris Fucci pitching his plan for the new CVPS-GMP headquarters.
I didn't get into this in the story, but the plan involves closing Forest Street north of Traverse, something Alderman Davis Allaire said has been pending before the highway commissioners for a year or so.
I don't know what folks on Forest Street think of that, but it seems like a reasonable idea to me. Forest and West has to be the most ill-conceived intersection I've ever seen.
As I've said since leaving my native SFla in 1988, "I didn't move to New England for this" -- "this" being hot, sticky weather. I don't complain about winter, spring, or fall. But I spend chunks of each summer hiding in the AC. Trying to do anything outside makes me carsick (when I'm not in the car). At least the heat wave you mentioned above has finally eased off some.
