Now that was a long meeting

In fact, I don't think I've ever sat through a 5-hour board meeting.

That's right, the aldermen just barely adjourned after arguing about salaries, vehicle purchases and playground equipment and way, way after our deadline. The meeting saw three or four roll-call votes.

The final budget number is $17,630,557.
