Tomorrow's paper will feature my account of last night's fair association meeting, where I learned, among other things, that you can buy a giraffe for $80,000. I also learned that the drop in attendance from last year was greater than the population of the city.
It will also feature a brief account of the fuel spill this morning on Cleveland Avenue. Police said there was no threat to the community and firefighters said the cleanup was still underway when I called to check a few minutes ago.
I don't know if tomorrow's paper will have the result of the final meeting on the city budget. The Aldermen are starting at 5:30, so there's a good chance I will be able to make deadline, but there were also a number of arguments at the committee level that sounded likely to continue once the discussion went upstairs.
One way or the other it will go on the website tomorrow, and I'll put up another update here before I leave to let you know if we made it.
