Tonight at the police commission:
- Sgt. Stevens talked about some of the economics of the local drug trade. It was interesting and I plan to delve into it a bit for next week's column.
- The commission voted unanimously to reaffirm last week's appointment of James Baker as interim chief.
- Capt. Tucker said at least one and possibly two city officers are leaving for jobs with the state police, and the department may see another retirement in the next three months.
- The commission spent more than an hour in executive session discussing "personnel matters and legal issues." They came out of executive session with no action taken.
