Coverage of last night's Board of Aldermen meeting was pre-empted by the alleged murder in East Poultney. I'll go more in-depth on a few of these over the next few days, but here are some highlights:
- The board approaved a pig-roast fundraiser for the anniverary of Tropical Storm Irene, a downtown gathering by the Model T Ford Club and the Killington Classic welcome party.
- ARC Rutland County's annual appropriation will have its ballot reworded to remove a certain word for the developmentally disabled that has come to be considered a perjorative.
- The board endorsed a tax stabilization policy for the redevelopment of blighted properties.
- Steve Costello discussed Green Mountain Power's plans for Rutland.
